Rockies in View

We crossed into Colorado this morning and had lunch at Dove Creek. The route was long, rolling hills. They were not small - from 100 to 300 feet in rise. It took a lot of effort but when successful allowed us to crest the hills without slowing down much. The result was a strenuous but fast 81 miles to Dolores Colorado. About 9 miles from Dolores we got our first glimpse of the Rockies, visible to the left of the foreground tree above. We will get to know them intimately tomorrow as we head for Telluride.
