Day 18 - Lake Powell to Blanding

Left: We began before dawn today. First light from our lodgings at Hite Marina, Lake Powell.

Above: Bill on the road climbing out of the Colorado canyon.

Left: an amazing petroglyph of cyclists in White Canyon.

Above: Along the road in White Canyon.

Left: one of the surprise grades cut through the cliffs of Comb Ridge on the ease side of San Juan valley.

Above: the last of Shannon Homewood's cookies. On past rides Judy O'Hare has always brought the cookies, but this time her thoughtful, industrious, and charming daughter baked them for us. Thanks, Shannon. Please send more.

Above: We enter the city of Blanding, tired but content. Blanding's motto is "Home Base for Adventure." We are ready.

Comments:
that's a deal Jeff, you figure out when/where to send them. How many dozen...types...?
My dad deserves an official jersey titled "the enabler." missin my parents and loving how much fun they're having.

Went to snapfish and really loved both sets of pictures. Awesome scenery!

Enjoying the narrative. Keep up the great work.

When I said "downhill from Utah' I forgot about a small speed bump called Colorado. Teluride sounds like the ideal rest stop. You can spend the whole day standing or on your bellies with your butts getting sun. Maybe downhill from Pueblo.
